FIGs
The ultimate freshman experience! Make the transition to university life with all the benefits of a small college atmosphere. Each theme-oriented FIG includes 16-18 students who live on concurrent floors in the Towers. Each FIG meets for an entire year with the option for course credit in the spring. Your Peer Mentor will act as the instructor for this course by organizing weekly meetings and 6-8 programs a semester. A passing grade is based on regular attendance and participation-an estimated time commitment of 1-2 hours a week.
FIG residents move in on August 16, 2008—a week before school begins—and participate in our annual Day on the Dam and a team-building low-ropes course. FIG residents are strongly encouraged to also attend Connections, a valuable orientation course that runs the week before classes begin.
