Our Academic Lifestyles are a great way to meet faculty, get involved in undergraduate research, and meet other students who share your classes. These communities are sponsored by academic departments and colleges throughout the USU campus. We currently offer the following floors
Academic Lifestyles
New for 2008!!! Theme Housing and the Department of Political Science are pleased to announce the opening of a Political Science Floor!
Political Science· LLC Bldg. F 2nd Floor
Change the world! Participate in local government and learn about the political process through hands-on experience. Share dinner with faculty and debate about the upcoming elections. Watch monthly movies on current events or try your hand at model UN.
World of Business · Moen Hall 1st Floor
Take the plunge into the world of business by taking part in investing competitions, having dinner with local business owners, and learn how to beef-up your resume through various workshops.
Vector Floor · Moen Hall 2nd and 3rd Floors
Do you enjoy taking things apart just to see how they work? The Vector Floor is the place for you! You will learn more about the Engineering program at USU, take part in design competitions, and participate in Engineering Week.
Pre-Health Professionals · Greaves Hall 1st Floor
Take tours of the cadaver labs, participate in a variety of service projects, and enjoy occasional movie nights with those who share your enthusiasm for working in the medical field.
Honors House · LLC Bldg. D 1st Floor
Debate competitions, theatre nights, and study abroad workshops are what Honors House is all about. Learn how you can expand your horizons through a variety of academic and social activities. Residents must register for one Honors breadth class in the fall and Scholars’ Forum, a one-credit seminar that introduces students to the Honors Program. Residents must stay active in Honors to remain in Honors House. Students admitted to the Honors Program automatically qualify for Honors House. Students not admitted to Honors must submit a letter of intent to Dr. Christie Fox, Director of Honors, at christie.fox@usu.edu.
NEW for 2008!!! Honors House is pleased to announce that it will be teaming with the Political Science Department for a special course on the 2008 elections which qualifies as a breadth course for the American Institutions requirement under general education. The course is POLS 1100H with Dr. Michael Lyons and will be held M,W, F from 2:30-3:20pm in Family Life 115. All members of Honors House are required to register for this class unless they have already met the breadth requirement for American Institutions.
